OPEN CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
SUMMER CHORAL CAMP “CHORAL CROSSROADS 2022”
13-17 JULY 2022
LIMASSOL – CYPRUS
“EPILOGI” Cultural Movement of Limassol is happy to announce the call for participants for the summer camp "CHORAL CROSSROADS 2022", taking place in Limassol, Cyprus, between 13th and 17nd July, 2022.
The festival aims to offer to the choirs the opportunity to get acquainted with the choral music of the participating countries and is dedicated to poetry, women, music, and life.
Within the framework of the festival, daily joint workshops of choirs and conductors will be held daily based on the repertoire pre-selected by the Artistic Committee.
The singers will have the chance to sing and interact in various languages with other people coming from different cultural and musical backgrounds and to learn how to use these diversities to create a homogenous final product.
Co-operation
We are looking for co-operation with mixed choirs from Europe and the Middle East. Each cooperating choir (“partner choir”) should delegate up to 5 singers, members of their choirs, of different voices, so that the balance of the choir be ensured.
Participants
The members of the choir will form an international ad hoc choir of about 50 members, which will rehearse for 4 days the repertoire proposed by the artistic committee and the collaborating choirs, culminating in a final concert at the end of the workshops in Limassol.
The singers must be adults, and must feel comfortable at sight reading.
Repertory
The repertoire that is going to be tested during the workshops will be selected by the artistic committee assigned by the organizers, based on the pieces proposed by the collaborating choirs.
We expect each choir to propose three choral pieces, at least one of which will be included in the festival repertoire.
The suggested pieces should be choral adaptations of songs of the country of the collaborating choir. Scores of the proposed pieces must be sent by email to the artistic committee until May 1, 2022.
