“CHORAL CROSSROADS 2020 - FEMALE VOICES” – VIRTUAL CHOIR

OCTOBER 2020 – MARCH 2021

OPEN CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many events around the world to be cancelled or postponed.

Our Festival “Choral Crossroads 2020” has also fallen victim to the spread of Coronavirus, and could not be held as planned in July 2020.

In view of the restrictions that our government has implemented to prevent the spread of the virus, we had to decide whether to cancel or postpone this choral gathering. Neither option seemed attractive enough, so we made an attempt to re-invent it. Our aim was to create an event which would meet the regulations and provide safe social distancing while not compromising the basic values of the Choral Crossroads festivals, which are founded on respect of diversity, mutual understanding and most of all, on the spirit of togetherness.

EPILOGI Cultural Movement of Limassol is happy to announce the call for participants for the Virtual Choir “CHORAL CROSSROADS – FEMALE VOICES”.

This virtual version of Choral Crossroads will be dedicated to female voices, and aims at offering choral singers the opportunity to be part of an international virtual female choir. Women and girls over 18 from all different backgrounds and cultures, from Europe and the Middle East, will have the chance to represent their own country and/or choir by learning and recording the piece “Nymphs”, written by the Cypriot composer Christos Stavrinides for the purpose of the Festival.  The participants will receive the scores of the piece in PDF format, together with the MP3 audio file of their voice shortly after their application is submitted.
